2006/10/31, Fernando Salas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Hi,
I have an Intel Mac; Mac OS X 10.4.6 (Tiger).
I successfully downloaded and installed OOo_2.o.4 for Mac OSX, Intel.
I previously installed X11; I double-checked I installed the right X11
package.

My problem is: I can't get to start the program. Everytime I click on
it on the Applications menu a box appears which reads 'OpenOffice.org
cannot be started, because X11 is not installed. Please install Apple
X11 first.' This happens even as X11 is open and running! OpenOffice
is just not recognizing and aknowledging the presence of X11.

I have done everything (I restarted the computer; I uninstalled Open
Office and X11 [without forgetting to remove the install receipt] and
reinstalled each one of these programs back again), I just can't get
to start the program.

What would you recommend me to do? Should I start all over? Did I
forget to clear a track when I uninstalled any of these programs?

Please tell me what to do. I like the concept of OpenOffice and I'm
doing everything possible to operate with this program.
thnaks,
Fernando Salas

Very strange indeed, Fernando.
Since you can open X11, you could maybe open OpenOffice.org from the
Xterminal.
I do not know the proper command... (I think you can type a command to
launch OOo at the prompt in the xterm window, or you could add OOo to the
Applications (top left option, next to X11).
Maybe you can look up documentation at XFree86 (the X11 developers) or
someone else on the list here might help you...
