If you want all of your pages of your document to be landscape
instead of portrait, there is a very simple way. Use Format > Page,
and click the Page tab. The fourth selection down is Orientation.
Change that to landscape, and click OK.
If you want some of your pages to be portrait and others to be
landscape, you must use the Syles and Formating Window (F11 key).
Click the Page Style icon. You can then create one style for
landscape and another one for portrait. But this requires some
knowledge of how to use Styles.
Since OpenOffice.org uses Styles to do seemingly everything, and
understanding of Styles might be something to look into. There are
several chapters on Styles in the different applications at
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/.
