Thank you. I'm computer illiterate. If I download the new version will it fit in with what I presently have, which is 1.2.2 ?



I suppose if you open your OpenOffice and see "Help", the version will appear. You could also download a more recent version, from <http://www.openoffice.org/>.

I've just started using the computer again after a year away and I see OO.oo is indicating a new version of OO.oo and is indicating it's a new version called OO.oo 2.
