If you want to have OpenOffice automatically save all you files in MS
office format:
- Open Writer
- Go to Tools>Options
- Click Load/Save
- Click Microsoft Office
- Check all the boxes under [S] (for Save)
- Click OK
- Close Writer.

Now when you save a document it will automatically be saved in MS Office
format.
Note that you *might* have to shut down and restart Quickstarter before
saving your first document. Check first.
