A significant related question is if OO.o contributors have to sign a
Copyright transfer to any one entity ?
OpenOffice requires a joint copyright assignment for code contributions as explained at the bottom of http://contributing.openoffice.org/programming.html

In that assignment the contributor retains the right to use their own code as they wish but allows Sun the same right.
