Hi All,
I am trying to change the page number style in an open office writer
document. I am using version 2.0.
Essentially I would like to number my contents and abstract pages using
roman numerals i, ii, iii... Following that I would like to change the
page numbers in the body of the document using standard 1, 2, 3...
notation, beginning at page 1. Furthermore I would like my index /
contents page to reflect the differing page number notation.
You'll need to create a separate page style (or use and modify the
built-in Index page style) for the contents, abstract and index pages,
and another (or use the built-in Default page style) for the body. This
is because page number format changes within the document requires
changing the page style.
To change the page number format for a page style, open the Stylist
(Format -> Styles and Formatting), find and click on the page styles
icon in the stylist then right click on the page style and select
Modify. Now go to the Page tab and find the "Format" droplist . Here you
can change the page number style for the page style. All pages in your
document using that style will then change accordingly.
Go to "Help -> OpenOffice.org Help -> Index (tab)" and enter the
following into the Search field for more info:
page numbers;inserting/defining/formatting
