Hello everyone
After recently having switched to OOo (and still being a noob), I
thought it was about time to learn about templating (one is never too
old to learn).
Here are some questions (remember: there are no such things as noobish
questions ;-) ):
- How can I extract/export the styles of a certain document to a
template? (Can I also select //which// styles must be exported? And
does this include page styles?)
- How can I make some sort of 'base document'? (With not only styles
being present, but also text already.)
- How can I to 'apply' a certain template to a document? (I have an
already formatted document, now I want to reformat it by applying a
new template to it.)
- How can I set my default values and 'default' template, applying to
all (both existent - but not overriding existing custom styles - and
nonexistent) documents
Thank you very much in advance

I gather the answers depend on which application you are using. The
menu File >Templates >> seems fairly standard and the dialogue/s have a
button marked "Help".
If your questions relate to Base, you may have seen reference on the
list to a mailing list devoted to that application. The website is
