Yes. This is a problem that's documented in the help files. The problem
is that with indirects, addresses are created with text strings and the
translator will only update excel type references when they are part of
a formula.
There is a very slick way around the problem which you can find if you
search the archives for
Re: Error importing from Excel: =COUNTIF(H8:AG8;"A~*")
I didn't save the entire thread, so I can't give it to you. It involves
defining ranges that may be used in formulae to give different results
in excel and OOo.
