I'm running 2.0.4 on winXP and have created a DB using native OOo
database format. Up to 3 days ago I've been able to create required
forms (8 of them) and everything is working fine. The DB is saved on
my local drive.
Now however I cannot edit any of the forms, create new tables or
modify anything at all. I always get the error message being displayed
of "the connection to <DB name> cannot be established". It does not
allow me to 'edit > DB properties' in order to check what's there.
Reviewing the erorr message a little more it seems that it is looking
for another database of another name of <original DB name>.backup.odb
...
I copied my original DB to the one that it seems to be looking for and
now everything seems to be working fine. Has any one else had this
occur - or anyone have any idea why this occurs?
I'm positive I did not save it as this secondary name so its got me a
little confused.
Any thoughts?

The only thought that occurs to me (not being a user of Base) is that
you may have enabled the creation of an automatic backup.
Perhaps it's another "undocumented feature"?
