Ingo: I agree that the X11 release was definitely botched by Apple. However, they were not aware of the problem until the OpenOffice.org community as well as other communities that rely on their product made them aware of it.
If you want to bring this up with Apple you are free to do so. We have expressed our displeasure at this release, but it is up to Apple as to what they want to do for releases in the future. Apple is not dependent on our existance, but we are on their existance for the Mac OS X release. And lastly, what are the top ten Open Source projects that rely on X11 for the Apple? I know of two products, OpenOffice.org is one of them. BTW, I did not install the broken X11 release based upon messages both in this list and in the Mac OS X developers list.
