Cells aren't "Protected" by default - they are really just tagged as
protectable by default (in the Format -> Cell -> Cell Protection (tab)
dialog. They are only protected if the sheet or document is set to
"Protected" as a whole (in Tools -> Protect Document) AND the cell is
tagged as "Protected" (i.e. protectable).
Is there a reason you can't include OOo Calc versions of your
spreadsheets alongside the Excel ones on your Book CD?
