For as far as I know RTF only stores formatted text, not tables or

Hi *,
I tried to store a document (text and picture) in rtf-format.
I re-opened the document and - the picture vanished.
I tried it as well to open it in M$ Word - the picture vanished.
The picture was anchered at the side
(I tried it as well to ancher it at a paragraph - without different
result).
The document in .odt is fine, but .rtf did forget the picture.
Any ideas, how to store rtf with pictures?

On my XP system, WordPad 5.1 allows the insertion of pictures. It *even*
allows the insertion of:
- OpenDocument drawings formulae, presentations, spreadsheets and texts
and also, separately
- OpenOffice.org 1.1 drawings, formulae, presentations, spreadsheets and
texts
I haven't tried any of this and I'm not at all sure what the difference is
between "OpenDocument" and "OpenOffice.org 1.1" but ...
