What you need to do is to go to Format > Page. (Under Excel, this would
have been Format > Page Setup. With OpenOffice, it's under a different
main menu. Which when you think of it, it makes a lot more sense to have
it under the format menu, because that's what you're doing, you're
formatting the page.)
After going to Format > Page, click the Page tab. Set the orientation to
Landscape. Where it says Format, there is a drop down menu that gives
different paper sizes. You'll want to select Legal. (At least that is what
it is called in the US version of OOo.)
This SHOULD work. My printer can't print 8.5x14, so I can't try this out
to verify it. But I do know that this works for standard 8.5x11 paper.
One other poster had stated that you also need to make changes through the
File > Printer Setup menu, but I have never found this to be necessary on
my home computer or on my work computer. So I would suggest trying this
first without doing anything in the File > Printer Setup menu.
I don't think you said what version of OpenOffice you're using, but unless
it's very old, things should work as described above.
Let us know how this works.
