It's probably a virus or spyware. Install a reliable AntiVirus program and do a complete system scan. If that shows nothing try an anti spyware program. If that shows nothing, use a search engine to find software that will detect Root Kits; install and run that software. I can't be more specific because you didn't say which Operating System you are using.

It could be a bad version of OpenOffice. Where did you get it? The official place is http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.4/index.html. You could check the integrity of the file you download(ed) by following the installation instructions at http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.4/instructions.html and pay careful attention to what they say about "MD5 Sums". Note that this can't check the installation; only the download file that you run to do the installation.
