Yes it does as long as the person using OpenOffice.org (OOo)
saves the file in a MS Office format. Like MS Office, OOo has its own
native file format that is normally saves files in. Unlike MS Office,
OOo can save files in MS Office formats as well. There are some
plug-ins available for MS Office which will allow the latest version
to read and save in the Open Document Format which is an
internationally recognized standard format.
