You also Should download the CCleaner (free download) program to
clean the registry
[or any other registry cleaner you know or use]
and search for broken startup links, etc.
I have a similar problem with another program that has a "quick
start" icon on the taskbar
and the only why to get rid of it, when I manually deleted the
program's directory,
was to do the manual cleaning from the Startup directory and clean the
registry

I have OpenOffice 2.0 installed and I want to delete OpenOffice 1.1.4.
Every time I turn on my computer, it comes up with an error message
about 1.1.4. I've tried to delete it, but it won't let me. I'm using
Windows XP and when I bring up add or remove programs and click on
the delete button, it just doesn't do anything. My son tried to
delete it manually, but he must have deleted too much and my Outlook
Express wouldn't work anymore, so I restored it prior to when he
deleted it, but now I'm stuck with the error message again.
