I spent the afternoon trying to download OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 from

When I returned, the page was gone and there was Customer

what happened to it? Did it install or didn't it? How do I find
out? If it didn't install correctly, how do I uninstall? Thank

You don't say which Operating System you are using nor which web browser
you are running. It is likely, but not guaranteed, that the download
completed but, if you read the installation instructions on the
OpenOffice download page you'll find that downloading and installing are
two separate processes: you must run the downloaded file. Depending on
what browser you are using, and what options you have configured within
it, the downloaded file will have been put in a place (folder/directory)
of *your* choosing. When you have found it, try running it. Unless, of
course, you chose "run this file" within the browser instead of
"download this file" in which case, if all went well, the installation
will have completed. In Windows, look for a file called "soffice.exe".
That's OpenOffice. I'm afraid I don't know about other platforms.
