"I downloaded the Mac OS X (X11) PPC OpenOffice proram and when I went to install it, it said I had to install Apple X11 first" This is a quote from Cyndi Klassen, a puzzled user, who sent a mail to the Mac Porting Development list, after receiving the error message "OpenOffice.org cannot be started, because X11 is not installed. Please install Apple X11 first."

If you get the above problem, please install X11.

I read the above on your website. When I attempted to start Open Office it told me I needed X11. I downloaded it and was when told that I couldn't install it as newer software was already installed on my computer.

The correct version of X11 for your computer can be found on the CD set that came with your computer. Apparently, Apple has a version of X11 for some older computers available for download. Since your OS is newer than the version of X11 on the web site, you must use the version that came with your computer.
