A little more information would be helpful. What format are you
using to save the document with the watercolour? (Is this a
watermark?)
Is the watercolour a file that you have inserted into the
document? If it is a file, did you insert it as a link or did you
embed it? Use Edit > Links to see if your document contains any links
to files. If so, click the "Break link" button to remove the link.
The watercolour should then remain a part of the document.
