One way is to install a virtual printer to do the job. I have used PDF995 from 
http://www.pdf995.com/ to do this. It's free. You run the progarm and it 
installs a virtual printer. Then, when you want to create a PDF file, you tell 
whatever software you are using to print and select the pdf995 printer instead 
of your real one. It asks you for a file name and, voila, a pdf file is 
generated. Note that this works with pretty much anything that can print its 
output.
