Have you looked at the latest release for missing strings and other
items? I was made aware of this by a fellow Mac version user today.
There is an open issue about not being able to export to PDF from the
en_GB version. This would become a major problem for those users who
use this version by either choice (I don't speak British English and you
don't speak American English) or that this is the only version they want
to use.

James, I shall have to speak to the netiquette police about this
piggy-backing on another thread.
I've just exported étoile.odt to ?toile.pdf (invalid encoding).
Contemporaneously, the software created a zip archive ?toile.odt
(invalid encoding).
The pdf opens in Adobe Reader and there appear to be no missing strings.
I have not looked at the latest release (by which I suppose you mean the
en version). The avalanche of bug reports forestalled me. Recognition
of diacritics is one and you have just mentioned yet another.
