  1. You cannot download or get a CD of only the Writer part of OpenOffice 
  (OO). You have to take the whole thing. When you execute it, you are 
  given the option to only install the parts (Writer, Calc, etc.) you need 
  but the savings made by not installing all of it are relatively small. 
  Reasonably modern computers easily have enough disk space. I would 
  strongly recommend doing a complete install unless you have a really 
  compelling reason not to. Who knows, you may decide next week that you 
  need a spreadsheet.

  2. You can order a CD by clicking the "Order OpenOffice.org on CD" link 
  at 
http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.4/index.html<http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.4/index.html>
 and then choosing a 
  supplier near you. Or you can look in the magazine shops; many computer 
  magazines, particularly but not only those devoted to Linux come with 
  CDs or DVDs that have OpenOffice on them.
