welcome to the club.
I have no problem whatsoever to send a document as *.odt, *.doc or *.pdf.
OOo finds my mail program in a whiff (Mail on an Intel iMac). I didn't even
have to install or chose anything in OOo.
Maybe we can help you solve your problkem if you give us some info about
your computer and operating system.

You are talking about two different things.  Your message says it has an
Internet connection, not an email client.  You have to have an email client
installed AND an Internet connection.
