Thanks. The Drawing toolbar in OOo on Linux has no "Text box" button.

Presumably you have inserted a formula in the text box.

Hi Terry

On mine (2.0.3 - gentoo) if I do View-Toolbars and check Drawing, the
toolbar is at the bottom of the page by default, but can be undocked. It
has an icon which looks like AI, this gives a text box. I don't know if
you could put a formula in it.

Russell

Thanks. Mine has a large capital T and the caption describes it as "Text".

Anything inserted seems to display as text. "=A1" does not have effect as a formula. I would not expect a drawing to do so.

I can't completely remember the thread. It seems to boil down to a difference between Excel and Calc.
