Error 1995 is a result of your running anti-virus software while
installing OpenOffice.org (OOo). In order for OOo to register itself
with your Windows operating system, it must write to the Registry
files. Your anti-virus software will not let it do that. Thus, the
error.
The solution is as follows:
1) Physically disconnect from the Internet. (Remove the LAN cable if
you are on a local network, or the phone wire if you are on dial-up.)
2) Quit your anti-virus software and your firewall if you have one.
3) Install OOo.
4) Start your anti-virus software and your firewall. Make sure both
are working correctly.
5) Reconnect to the Internet.
If you would prefer to ask questions about OOo and receive them
in German (Deutsch), you can use use [email protected] instead
of this mailing list which is English based.
