a) As somebody else pointed out, you didn't give enough information to provide a usable answer to your question;
b) The only time I've run into this issue, it is because the person who created the Excel Spreadsheet made a number of demonstrably false assumptions about the platform that the users worked on. [IOW, OOo can't fix the incompetence of the spreadsheet creator.]
c) Consider filing legal action against the testing company, for their negligence,and acting in bad faith;
