When I attempt to copy what you are doing, the numbers do not show to
the correct decimal places. This is corrected however when I correctly
format the columns.

If you keep the format as numbers and increase the display of decimal
places, what happens...

OpenOffice 2.0.4 Calc, Windows XP Pro.
I have a small table of tab delimited data and I try to move it in the
Calc. The numerical colums contain just numbers like '1.5440'.

IF I make it in simple way:
Inser + Sheet + From_File, the program shows the data as it should be,
The column headers read 'Standard' and the data is OK.
After I press OK, the data changes partially to some kind of date.
If I set the columns as 'Text', I can not make numerical handling to
them. In the list of possibilities there is no option for 'NUMBER'.

After the data has been sucked to the table I can find no way to tell
the program that it is NUMERICAL and not DATE.

Somebody told me to unmark Tools + Cell Contents + AutoInput. It doesn't
help.

This is annoying. We have about 14000 persons here in University of
Turku And I hope we can start installing OO to our computers.
