down them all changes the files by downloading into smaller segments then putting everything back together. i can call the file anything i want but its not an executable file. i do have a very slow connection and i may just buy the cd this is the 4th time i've tried to download this program . thanks for your input

The file you downloaded should be an executable file (.exe) which you run by double clicking on its icon, or on its name in a Windows Explorer window. If what you downlaoded is not a ".exe" file then I'm afraid you downloaded the wrong thing or the download didn't complete properly.

What is the *exact* name of the file you downloaded?

If the download took 11 hours then you must have a very slow internet connection and you may therefore be better off ordering a CD - from the same page as you got the download from. OpenOffice CDs are usually charged for at a nominal rate to cover the cost of the CD itself + P&P only.
