You don't mention which module that you're entering the list into. If
it's calc, just sort the list and enter a formula in the next column
that will return the cell contents if the entry below is different,
nothing if it's the same. Then copy that column and use 'edit / paste
special / text' to copy the results into a new column. If you compiling
the list in writer, copy and paste it into a spreadsheet, do the above,
and paste the results back into writer. Here's a formula that will work:
=if(a1=a2;"";a1)
