Try maximizing your window and then close it out. The next time it should come out large.

If you right click on the OOo icon that you used to open the program,
assuming that you are using Windows, a menu will pop-up. Click on
Properties then select the "Shortcut" tab. Under the "Run" option you
will be able to select "normal window", "minimised" or maximised".
The program should then open in the tpye of window you want.
