There may be no need to use macros. There is, IIRC, an old macro on www.ooomacros.org - possibly called "Calendar Maker".

There are several calendars at http://documentation.openoffice.org/Samples_Templates/index.html

A link for a perpetual calendar which I downloaded early in November has ceased to exist.

The perpetual calendar by Paul Gress is now on the Samples_Templates page you mention above. I believe it is what I had in mind. Here is the URL

http://documentation.openoffice.org/Samples_Templates/User/template_2_x/calc/Calendar_pg.ots <http://documentation.openoffice.org/Samples_Templates/User/template_2_x/calc/Calendar_pg.ots>

The calendar template requires the year for each date of each special event that he provides (such as Ground Hog Day, Christmas, etc) be changed to the current year in the setup, but that is easy to do. (Surely there is a way to pick up the year from the calendar year. I must learn the macro language! First time since I retired that I have a desire to do any programming!)

Again, many thanks for pointing this out, and thanks to Paul for creating and sharing it!

Merry Christmas, Happy Channakh, Winter Solstice, what have you!
