Hello, my name is Hillary Hiner. My brother installed open office on my new
laptop (Dell Inspiron E1505) in the States, and I am having a lot of
problems with installing the Spanish spellcheck. I live in Santiago, Chile
and almost everything I write is in Spanish (for my university and job). I
have downloaded many times the Spanish dictionaries with the wizard and from
the open office web page where I registered as a user, but the same thing
keeps happening. I get the dictionary (for Chile or Spain) in the Languages
section of the Options (Tools) section but it doesn't have a spellcheck.
The installation directions for the dictionaries are hard to understand and
I'm not sure if it is a problem with the programs on my computer reading the
files (I downloaded Java in case but it didn't seem to solve the problem) or
if it is a problem with the files I'm downloading. This is driving me
insane!!!! Please help!!! Thank you Hillary
