Version 1.1 is *very* old - the latest is 2.1 Perhaps something in the
new Windows patches has caused the old software to break.
It may be time for you to upgrade OpenOffice. 2.x versions can live
alongside 1.x versions so you can have both installed until you are
happy with the new version. Your existing documents should all "just
work" in the new version.
