Users of OpenOffice:

A responder gave me the following suggestions regarding the crashing problem I
outlined I am having with Impress when running a slide show: the computer
crashes at one spot or another during the slide show presentation ... any
Impress slide show presentation with a file I recently put toger (details,
below).

  (1) Can you make sure that your video drivers are up-to-date ?

Will look into video drivers issue .. but I think they are up-to- date.

  (2) Also are you using the latest version of OpenOffice.org ? Yes, latest
version of Openoffice.org.

  (3) And finally in the Tools -> Options for Impress there is a possibility to
turn
on hardware acceleration. What setting are you using ?

Cannot find the spot to turn on "hardware acceleration"; looked in Tools +
Options and it is not shown in any location I can find there.

Here is what I wrote to you initially at "Users"

I am just getting familiar with the use of OpenOffice.org software ./
program which I downloaded last night. I created a presentation today that
look great and was fairly easy to put together. It contains color, no
graphics, a few different fonts, and a "wipe-down" transition ... for about
17 slides. I have it saved on my computer in Impress - on hard drive and on
3 1/2 floppy disk for use on other computers (e.g., my laptop, other
  laptops).

Problem: Every time I try to run a slide show to see how the presentation
looks, my system crashes at some (usually different) spot in the slide
show. What is happening? How can this crashing be prevented?
