OOo 2.0.3.
This is not meant as a question or complaint, just a rundown of how I
got through the install. I wonder if there are any other people out
there, not entirely conversant with computers, (perhaps even
especially with Linux) who think somethings wrong because they
couldn't get it to go through the whole procedure to put up an icon on
the screen.
I wonder if there are occasions where they might just try the 'locate'
utility, then get into the appropriate directory and start the install
from within. I'm not saying it woud work every time; problems are
often different. It might be worth trying in some cases.

The installers seem to produce different results.
One user reported on the forum that his installer (Windows) installed a
directory openoffice.org2.1 alongside openoffice.org2.0 Some of his old
settings were used, some not.
I'm not encouraged.
