This *might* work (assuming you are using Windows - if not, please tell
us what you are using so someone with lnowledge of that OS can help
you):
Find the file named "setup.xcu" It should be in "C:\Documents and
Settings\<username> Application
Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice" where
"<username>" is the user name you used when you installed OOo.
NB the folder "OpenOffice.org2" *might* not have the "2" at the end of
its name.
Having found the file, exit all OpenOffice programs *including*
Quickstarter, rename the file you just found to e.g. "setup_xcu.old" and
then restart OOo. OOo will create a new "setup.xcu" file and all should
be sweetness and light.
To exit Quickstarter, look in the System Tray; if there is grey icon
with flying birds pictured, *right* click on it and choose Exit from the
pop-up menu. If the icon is not there then Quickstarter isn't running
anyway.
