Hello, I am using OpenOffice.org 2.0 and I am working on a Japanese version, which I would like to convert into English. I downloaded the WriterGuide, but cannot find how to change the language settings. I opened the document, but under "Options" I do not have "language settings". Can anybody tell me what I should have to do? Thanks a lot, Carolin Hello Carolin
Language settings are indeed to be found under Tools > Options > Language Settings (click the +) > Languages. You'll need to click the Enable Asian languages (and probably also CTL) besides choosing the default languages (Asian and CTL). If an abcV appears beside a language you chose, the spell checker is available. You can install other dictionaries with File > Wizard > Install new dictionaries (activates macro DictOOo) Language in OpenOffice.org is linked to the Character (Format > Character > Language) Hope this helps you a bit further on your way -- Guy using english OOo 2.0.4 on a iMac Intel DualCore Tiger and dutch OOo 2.1 RC 1 on a G4 PPC Powerbook Tiger -- please reply only to [email protected] -- Dodoes can't afford to have headaches
