When running Windows, I had excellent experience with AVG (and with Avira as
well), which did not interfere with downloads. However, it - and/or my
firewall - did interfere with installation of OOo updates (good old error
1935, about which so much has been written so often on this forum), so the
following advice still applies : after downloading OOo, disconnect from the
internet, disable both anti-virus programme(s) and firewall(s), install OOo,
and then, before reconnecting to the internet, re-enable the security
programmes (not Norton !)....
