I cannot answer the question thoroughly. But with complex files,
conversions between OpenOffice and MS Office sometimes are not
satisfactory. Many users in this list mention problems with tables or
pictures. I hope somebody will be able to tell you if the particular
problem you have has been fixed. I would not be too optimistic.

The second problem is that the text is worse formatted then in MS Office.
Maybe you already solved this solution, but I didn't find it.
