OpenOffice.org is designed to export PDF files but not to edit
them. It has long been recommended that you save any files you are
going to export to PDF in an OOo native format. After saving the
file, export it and send to whomever needs it. If any changes are
needed later, make the changes in the OOo file, resave the file, and
then send the modified PDF.
