I am suggesting something completely different, which would be
automatic and also totally transparent for unsubscribed users:

http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=63003
http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss&msgNo=51635

spending a bit of time to read the rest of those two threads may be
useful to provide context...

Let's not discourage new _questions_ from coming? Sure. The point of
my comments has been, since the first time, "OK, but try to do it in a
way that doesn't do its best to prevent more people to subscribe and
provide _answers_"
