For a resume, what I would suggest is exporting as a PDF file (File > Export as PDF). Then open it up (OpenOffice can't open PDF files; you probably have Adobe Reader or something equivalent which will do that) and make sure it looks "right". It should, but if it were a resume, I'd check mine first. Then e-mail the PDF file.
