     It really depends upon what Troy wants to do. Does he want to 
make changes in one slide or a group of slides?
     If for only one slide, use of the toolbars with the Default 
layout will produce exactly what he wants.
     If for a group of slides, a new Slide Master needs to be created. 
Selecting a slide master and using View > Master > Slide Master, a 
new slide master for the presentation can be created. Again, the 
toolbars are available to place everything desired on the slide 
master. After renaming the new slide master, clicking the Close 
Master View will then allow him to use it for some or all of his 
slides.
     Remember: a slide master serves the same purpose as a page style.
