Hey,
I'm working in an excel document (database), and all I've done is
highlight one row, like I've done several times before...
But now it won't let me save the document. And it freezes up, and I have
to manually quit X11 each time I try this. So I've tried closing it out,
bringing it back up, making one change (highlighting one row) and it
won't ever save it.. only says "general input/output error."
Can you please help me? What should I do differently?

I'm not on a Mac myself but I think you can go to
http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/misc/Troubleshooting_guide.html
and click the link for "General error or General input/output error".
That should help you out. The Mac is considered UNIX-based in these
instructions.
