Hi
At present there is no converter from Works to OpenOffice. There is one
under construction. Until this is completed it is best to export word
processing files from works to *.doc format (Save as) and then import them
into OpenOffice. I know this is a pain but when I converted from Works to
Word some years ago I had to export from Works and then check it in Word.
Thanks
Rob

Subject: [users] new user problems
How do I open my Microsoft WORKS wordprocesser files? I see nothing in the
filter that deals with .wps files. Everything that I tried with Microsoft
in it still came up with "input error"
Which of the many printed manuals is most popular with users that are
familiar with Microsoft products?
I tried to CONVERT my existing word processer files with the wizard and gave
it a source folder and destination folder but had no result.
Thank you in advance. Regards, Herbert Rudolph
Go to
http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/misc/Troubleshooting_guide.html
and click the link for Opening Microsoft Works Documents in
OpenOffice.org 2.x. While the best idea really is to do a save as from
Works, if you don't have it, you can follow the steps in the TG.
