I've no idea how this changed. I do know how to correct it:
First close OOo including quick-starter.
Then go to
- Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application
Data\OpenOffice.org2\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office\UI
(for Windows) or
- /home/<USER>/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/
Office/UI (for Linux)
Once there, open the file DbBrowserWindowState.xcu
(in a text-editer)
Search the property 'visible' and set it to 'true'.
