OpenOffice Writer hangs whenever I execute a macro -- no particular
macro, as it even happens when no macro is defined at all.
OpenOffice version: 2.0.2-2ubuntu12.2, Thu Jan 11 01:39:38 UTC 2007
Operating system: Ubuntu
To exhibit the problem:
1. At command line, type ooffice.
(Or start Writer any other way, for that matter.)
A window appears entitled "Untitled1 - OpenOffice.org Writer".
2. Select "Tools / Macros / Run Macro...".
3. OpenOffice.org Writer is hung: the drop-down "Tools" menu
and its "Macros" sub-menu do not retract. Dragging another
window across the OpenOffice Writer window leaves a gray
trail. Below the command line, this message appears:
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0xb61f2678 ***
I downloaded and installed a new OpenOffice from openoffice.org,
OOo_2.1.0_LinuxIntel_iinstall_en-US.tar.gz, but the problem remains
unchanged.
Can everybody else use macros? Is it just me? Does anybody out
there run OpenOffice under Ubuntu and use macros successfully?
Thanks.
