I loaded a copy of 2.1 on a 200MHz PII (256meg ram) with Win 98
works ok, but yes it is slow - but most modern software is
slow on a 1997-98 machine. But is works a little faster on same
machine running Win 2000/pro.
Works great on a 450MHz PIII /Win 2000 pro machine though -
just a little slower than my Athlon 3200+
I would really look into a source of a used PIII or P4 machine
is you cannot buy a new one. Almost everything I run, runs OK
on a PIII 450MHz machine or better. That is the minimun I would
get is I wanted to run OOo and Mozilla's SeaMonkey or Firefox
plus the other good stuff out there that is for free or low cost.

worked. It was terribly slow on my very old machine (dec 1998), but it
worked. I don't know about OpenOffice.org 2.1, since I only installed it

I'm not sure but it might be Win98SE that is needed.
