She typically receives files in .doc format, loads them into Openoffice, edits them using the "record changes" option, she saves the result as a .doc file and sends it back to the author.
Up to now she has not experienced problems using this method but last week she received a document containing a table. She edited the doc (including the table, of course) and sent it back. Although the table shows up perfectly in OO2.1 (loading her .doc version) when sent to an MSWord user all but the initial row of the table were truncated. She was able to replicate the problem by sending the file to her friend (who uses MSWord 2003) and the same problem recurred. The table was mangled when loaded into MSWord. I can send you the original file and a .pdf version of how it shows up in MSWord. Neither of us use Windows which is why we can only send a .pdf file. If you want to see these files, please let me know where I can send them.
