Hi,
As both a long time Mac and PC user If had to deal with moving fils back and forth between the two platforms. Ever since Mac OS 7.5.x the Mac platform could read and write to media (i.e. floppy disks, USB flash memory, etc) that was formatted to the MS FAT 16 or FAT 32 standard. As for USB flash memory devices these come out of the box formatted as MS FAT 16. So they will work on both platforms with out the need to reformat them. For true cross platform compatibility, you can install a program called MacDrive on the PC. This will give the PC (i.e. MS Windows) the ability to read/write to all media types that have been formatted using the Macintosh HFS format. When using MacDrive, a MAC formatted disk will have a small red apple as part of it's icon to let you know that it is a MAC formatted media. If you are sending any kind of word or text file to some one, and you don't know what word processor or text editor they are using, first save the document in the RFT (i.e. using the .rft file extension) format. This is a 'universal' file format for text files that just about every word processor or text editor will be able to display and edit.

Have a great day
